Restorative Practices Program - Jefferson Parish Juvenile Court

A pilot program in the Jefferson Parish schools. The Juvenile Court contracts with trained mediators to provide restorative conferencing services in the schools. The program\'s aim is to have a mediator respond to a conflict within 24 hours of the conflict. School administrators, teachers, and the Parish District Attorney have also received training is Restorative Discipline. The Juvenile Court will measure effectiveness of the program by looking at the number of behavioral issues ocurring after a conference.
